How swag would it be if you could design your own cereal? That’s the idea behind Custom Choice Cereal, the company that allows those with gluten allergies and sensitivities to make their own breakfast crunch. Okay, it’s not crunch. I just didn’t want to use the word cereal again.
The company allows you to choose a base of organic corn flakes, organic rice puffs, or rolled oats. Then add anything from dried fruit, nuts or chocolate chips to the mix. The company gives the price and nutrition info each item, making it easy to stay on your diet at a reasonable cost. I created a box (serv. size 11) of organic non-GMO corn flakes, dried blueberries and sliced almonds that came to $7.27. Not bad.
If ordering cereal is not high on your priority list, you can still make your own.
Homemade Cereal:
- Add one serving of rolled oats or bran flakes (non-processed, of course)
- Add 1/2 serving of fresh fruit, like a banana or blueberries
- 1 TBS of flax, Chia or Hemp seed.
- 2 TBS of chopped or sliced nuts
Mix in a bowl, add non-dairy milk or yogurt and voila, breakfast is served.
Are you a cereal person? What’s your favorite breakfast food?

That’s really awesome. I’m not sure if I’d do it – I’m not a huge cereal eater but I know my husband and sister would LOVE something like this
They are really into their cereal!
I’m obsessed with these companies that let you make your own cereal or granola bars! My dad’s a big cereal eat, so I’m thinking of creating him a cereal for his birthday.
I’ve started making my own muesli. Frankly, it’s hella lot cheaper than buying, and I have more control over the ingredients.
My mother loves muesli and is always trying to get me to make it. It’s suppose to be very nutritious. And yes, I agree. When you can, making your own is the best.
I love cereal and this sounds great for breakfast!

Thanks, Phil! I don’t eat cereal as much as I use to, but when I get that hankering for it, there is nothing better.
I love cereal, but since I have to eat breakfast at 6:30, it doesn’t always hold me until my 10:00 am snack. I love the idea of giving a special cereal as a gift though!
Btw, I made this the other day for breakfast and it was fantastic – seems like something you would enjoy also:

Thanks so much for linking me to that blog!! That oatmeal looks delicious! I haven’t had oatmeal for breakfast in so long either. I usually smoothie or juice.
